Emergency Power Recommendations

Options:

  • Battery-based ‘Generators’

    • These are just batteries with an attached inverter, and can be charged by plugging them in the wall, or by solar power
    • Can be used INSIDE
    • Silent
    • Either One or Two:

      • One

      • Two

        • Double the power, use two smaller units to make each easier to carry
        • Redundancy – If you have a problem with one, you have a backup unit
        • Buy this:

  • Dual-Fuel Generators

    • These can run on gasoline or LPG (propane), so it gives you flexibility
    • Must be run OUTSIDE
    • You can hear them running (they sound like a quiet lawnmower engine, 50-60 db)
    • Either One or Two:

      • One Dual-Fuel Generator

      • Two Dual Fuel Generators

        • Both can be linked together to provide you with double the power, or use two smaller units to make each easier to carry
        • Redundancy – If you have a problem with one, you have a backup unit
        • Buy these:

  • Battery-based AND Dual-Fuel – BEST All-Around Solution!

    • You can use SOLAR, GASOLINE, or PROPANE to make power
    • The concept is to use the battery-based unit as your primary, and use the Dual-Fuel to keep that Battery charged in the event that solar power is not enough
    • Either One or Two:

      • One Battery-based AND One Dual-Fuel

      • Two Battery-based AND One Dual-Fuel

        • These can be linked together to provide you with double the power, or use two smaller units to make each easier to carry
        • Redundancy – If you have a problem with one, you have a backup unit
